“Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn’t mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child” (Scott Krippayne)
Sometimes, peace isn’t the absence of storms but a blessed assurance within the storm that God is with you. To me, the ultimate picture of peace isn’t so much the calm sea but Jesus sleeping in the middle of a storm. And if He is with you, then you can be at peace, no matter how much the storms rage around you.
