A prayer for my future wife

Here I am, thinking about you again and wondering if you’re thinking about me. I have come to the point where I am finally starting to give up striving and trying to make my own plans and my own timing work. I am starting to learn to rest my mind and my heart in God’s plan and His timing. As the name of the book I just got in the mail says, I Gave God Time. That’s all He needs to pull off the biggest miracles– time.

So I pray that your heart is at rest. That you are comfortable where you are and not striving like I have been most of my life. I pray your heart is captured and captivated by Jesus and that you are so enamored and enraptured by His love for you that He becomes everything to you and every other thing in your life falls back into its proper place.

I pray that you are fully coming alive to all that God made you to be. That you know where your beauty comes from and that you treasure your femininity as a gift from God. I pray that your loveliness comes from a Christ-filled countenance and a heart full of compassion and kindness.

I pray that your heart is being set free to love. That all your fears and insecurites are driven away in the face of the Prince of peace, and that peace will rule your heart and mind. I pray you look at every heartache and heartbreak as a means of molding you into the woman who will completely dazzle me.

Waiting is hard, but the longer the wait, the more we will treasure finding each other. I can’t wait to be your husband and do all I can to be a part of  unveiling your true beauty for the world to see. I am waiting for that day, letting God transform me into the man you deserve.

Until then, take courage, dear heart. The night seems long but dawn is just around the corner. Hold on.

  1. This is beautiful. I was feeling pretty low, praying for my future husband and wondering if I was crazy for doing so. Your words are encouraging. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Wow. I pray God blesses your life with a woman whose heart is intwined with God’s. Thanks for sharing your prayer with the world :o)

  3. Whoever you are and wherever you may be, thank you for sharing this wonderful prayer. I cried. This is so much of what I am hoping and praying my husband’s prayers are. I have just now finished a battle of anxiety and impatience with the Lord about my singleness but because of reminders like this I am no longer frantic. I know our God will reveal to us our soulmates, made specifically and perfectly for us, in His perfect time, His perfect way. It will be more magnificent than anything we could imagine. How amazing is He for giving us a gift so priceless? A person to share His love with, who will understand us so perfectly, and who we can share God as the center of our relationships. I can’t even imagine but I know it will be incredible for us all. God bless you!!!

  4. Thank you so much for sharing your heart! It is such a comfort to know that there are still godly men out there who are willing to wait on the LORD. What a beautiful! My prayer is that whoever the LORD has in store for me has also been praying for me like what you’re doing for your future wife. Indeed, our times and seasons are completely in His Capable Hands. I have to be reminded time and time again that He is in complete control and that He will work out all things together for our good because His love for us is unsurpassed by no one else’s. I have to be content with such things that He has given me and to focus on the tasks that He has set before me today. Our hope is in Him and in His Word. He said that “the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:3).” May the LORD God continue to bless you and keep you.

  5. You really make it appear really easy along with your presentation however I find this matter to be really one thing that I feel I’d never understand. It seems too complex and very huge for me. I’m having a look ahead in your next publish, I’ll try to get the grasp of it!

  6. Brother, you have conveyed in words something that is very hard to give to the Lord! I commend you on your wait and I pray that peace follows you on your journey. Sometimes it is east to forget that it is God’s plan that is best when we want something so bad. I am going to be 32 in 2 weeks and I am still waiting for my wife. Just keep God as your focus and wait patiently on the Lord and He will guide you perfectly! Psalm 27:14 “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

    In Him,

  7. hahaha in JESUS name 🙂 (holy giggles)

i notice the date on this post, so i will ask the question every reader wants to know….did you find her yet? and how did God reveal her?!

      • thats really awesome! im excited for you 🙂 i imagine it to be
..a close your eyes deep breath kind of moment, where time and sound seem to be completely non-existent, and your heart flutters in a way that gives you numbing goose bumps that seem to radiate joy and agape love. i guess… exactly what the touch of the Father feels like.

cant help but smile. be encouraged friend the woman you described to God…is praying for you too I promise. He wouldnt have it any other way. 😉 You are worthy and deserving!

  8. I am also waiting on God to provide me with my wife in His time Every day I tell the Lord to give my wife a great big hug and a kiss tell her I love her and I am waiting for the Lord to bring us together and to let us know when we meet we are meant for each other I know Gods timing is perfect but we at times do get impatient and make mistakes I did meet a very nice lady who I loved dearly and we talked of marriage but the good Lord on November 22 took her home I miss her dearly but I do not blame God at all I wish she was still here everyone knew we were meant for each other and felt bad when she passed away at 50 I am 57 We were not even looking and we met at church even though we never saw or met until that beautiful night We had so much in common and complimented each other in so many things We went to church prayed together , worked in the yard ,washed and waxed cars together she helped with my Bible study I taught with Gods help along with being a great cook and other things
I know she is in a better place and is watching over me and her two kids a 22 year old son and a 24 year old daughter we got along great. Pray the right one comes soon God bless you
