“So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
It was a rainy Sunday. It was a good day to stay inside and take a nap and do as little as possible on the last day before the week comes around again.
On days like these, it can be very easy to lose sight of what matters and what’s really important.
Those little details can get overwhelming, and the tyranny of the urgent can make us forget that all that really matters is what’s eternal. All the petty daily stuff will one day pass away, but the grace of God at work in you and me will not.
God will finish what He started in you. And me. Even on those rainy days when you don’t feel any better or different than the day before.
With God, the best is still yet to come.
