God Don’t Ever Change

I remembered something that Garrett Gregory said when he filled in for Aaron Bryant at The Church at Avenue South: “My feelings don’t change God’s being.”

In other words, whether I feel it or not, God is good. Whether I see it or not, God is enough. My faith or lack of faith doesn’t affect God’s sovereignty.

God is as much with me in those moments when I can’t find the words to pray, when He seems unreachable, as He is in the times when worship flows out of me as spontaneously as breathing.

God is as faithful when I deny Him with my lifestyle as when I’m bold in my profession of faith.

My feelings will lie to me, but God never will. My emotions may change with the wind, but God remains the same.

I’m still very thankful that I’m upheld not by a great faith in God but by faith in a great God.
